2020 Update

Wow. Strange times we’ve found ourselves in, huh.

Most of my career is in theatre. Which is pretty much shut down right now. But I’m still teaching online voice lessons, still playing for classes at AMDA, and, incredibly, working on a couple fantastic new projects coming up. Here’s a quick run-down.

Bite-Sized Broadway— A mini-musical podcast. consists of 50-minute episodes each featuring a 10-to-20-minute “mini-musical” presented as a fully produced radio play complete with top-of-the-line digital orchestrations and captivating sound effects. Each musical is followed by a discussion with its writers about their piece and their careers. In order to support these gifted writers, we have cast top Broadway and theatre industry talent to help get eyes and ears on these writers and help them launch a fruitful career in the theatre. We hope this program will also encourage other more well-known writers to keep creating short-form musical masterpieces, exercising their creativity and inspiring new and young writers to do the same! “Medea in #quarantine” — Where O where, has Medea gone? Turns out, she’s in quarantine like the rest of us, er, uh, make that house arrest, in an undisclosed location. As Civilization plummets into one pandemic-induced disaster after another, Medea decides it’s the right moment to reach out across the airwaves and tell anyone who will listen about the disastrous events of her life--from her side of the story--and sing about them too. In seven episodic “confessions”, Medea sings the classic standards of her day and recounts the story of her life--all the while maintaining her innocence about the act that has made her the most detested woman of the Western world. Is her world our world, or is our world all hers? Tune in to find out! An independent production by the Brasstacks Theater Collective, Medea in #quarantine will be streaming across multiple platforms in the near future. Starring Laura Cetti as Medea and directed by Jesse Manocherian. Creative team: book: Nancy Irene Kelly; composer: Jonathon Lynch; lyricist: Kevin Wanzor; assistant director and production manager: Christian Henry.
